Architectural Study

For one of the classes at Ringling College we had to take a blueprint of a building and draw it in two point perspective. Through the use of value and color we created temperature shifts that give the painting a certain mood and a greater sense of three-dimensionality.

The three images below are some value studies that I did after the line work was finished. I chose the one painting where the upper half of the building is bathed in light as itlooks the most realistic and provides the most dramatic lighting scenario.

The next three paintings were done to come up with a monochromatic painting that conveys the different values and temperatures the best. I chose the orange one, as it worked well together with the fire and smoke.
